~ Troupe performs for the first time ever in India ~
Noida/EROS TIMES: Pearl Academy invited New Zealand’s well-known Waka Toa – music and a dance troupe at their Noida Campus, as a learning opportunity for students to know about the country’s indigenous culture. Joanna Kempkers, New Zealand High Commissioner to India along with Norm McLeod leading artist and Joy Apirana and the team along with representatives of Education New Zealand to address the students.
The troupe, which comprised of 11 members, showcased a brilliant 40-minute dance performance where they beautifully portrayed their country’s ethnic culture ‘Maori’.
Joanna Kempkers, New Zealand High Commissioner to India said, “I am extremely happy for this opportunity given that Pearl Academy gave us to show New Zealand’s indigenous culture to everyone out here. It is an honour to present Waka Toa to all the students and faculty members, and showcase our country’s home-grown culture through this performance.
